Information to Authors

Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors are obliged to check their submission for the following:

  1. The submission is an original contribution not published or submitted elsewhere.
  2. For submission, the use of the pre-formatted template is recommended. Otherwise, you can submit your paper to the Executive Editor. Please read the formatting instructions.
  3. The standard bibliographic requirements including the Vancouver Referencing System for citation formats (https://dal.ca.libguides.com/CitationStyleGuide/Vancouver) are obeyed. The Harvard system is also accepted (https://www5.open.ac.uk/library/referencing-and-plagiarism/quick-guide-to-harvard-referencing-cite-them-right).
  4. The standard declarations for original articles, review articles, short reports, case studies, and viewpoints.
  5. The authors fill in and send the pre-formatted copyright declaration.
  6. After a manuscript is accepted, authors have to pay the article processing fee.
    • Thanks to a donation, all accepted submissions presently are free of charge.
  7. Authors can submit their work by email.

Author Guidelines

We check all submissions for plagiarism and publish accepted articles, successively.

The journal employs an anonymous peer review. After a positive review, we accept in JGPOH contributions of

  • original research
  • reviews of literature
  • short reports
  • case studies
  • viewpoints

Authors are allowed to deposit all versions of their work in an institutional or other repository of their choice without embargo.

Copyright and licensing terms

The author/s retain copyright of their papers without restrictions. Authors will then grant the publisher the right of first publication, and other non-exclusive publishing rights.  The initial copyright of a paper is held by the authors (or their employer, in some instances). When publishing that paper the copyright may continue to be held by the author, or can be licensed or transferred to the publisher.

The journal do not restrict the rights of the copyright owner. The journal allow authors to retain the copyright of their papers without restrictions. Authors will then grant the publisher the right of first publication, and other non-exclusive publishing rights. 

This is an open access journal. All articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License CC BY 4.0
(https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Information to open access: www.doaj.org.

The terms of the Creative Commons (or other) license do not apply to the copyright holder. This means that when the author retains copyright without restrictions, the license applies to the readers and the publisher. But the license applies to the readers and the author when:

  • copyright has been transferred to the journal
  • the author retains copyright and grants exclusive publishing rights to the journal
  • the author retains copyright, transfers or grants exclusive commercial rights to the publisher, and a non-commercial license is used

Translations

The English version is legally the only relevant for all texts in JGPOH.

Translations into other languages cannot be guaranteed to always provide the exact meaning of the original English text, although the translation system we use is likely to be the best available. Exceptions regarding the legal language are indicated at the end of the respective publication.

Fees

Authors may apply for discount or waving of the APCs upon lack of financial support for their publication.

  • original research: 400 €
  • reviews of literature: 300 €
  • short reports: 100 €
  • case studies: 100 €
  • viewpoints: 100 €

Privacy Statements

We shall use names and addresses entered in JGPOH exclusively for the purposes declared in JGPOH. This information will not be available to any other person, party or purpose.
